

As practice of good governance and strict adherence to the by-laws of Kipkelion Youth Service Co-operative Society (KYSC) as well as the Co-operative Act, our partners, Kipkelion Youth Service Co-operative Society conducted their second AGM on 14th April 2022 at Sahara Gardens, Kericho Town. The ADM had 35 (85% turnout) attendees ranging from the members of the Kipkelion Youth Service Co-operatives, Directors of the Board, Supervisory Committee, representatives from the Co-operative Department, Kipkelion District Coffee Union and German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation (DGRV)/German Kenyan Cooperative Development (GKCD). The AGM was fully funded by GKCD/DGRV.
The AGM was successful, and Kipkelion Youth Service Co-operative Society was able to achieve the following set objectives:
- Informing members of previous and future activities.
- Sharing society’s financial statements and review fiscal information (audited and approved financial report) for the past year with members.
- Making important decisions regarding the operations of the society going forward like fixing of maximum borrowing powers, indemnity amount, choosing auditors and bankers.
- Election of retiring board of directors – A third of the board of directors who were retiring were subjected to election/re-election.
- Marketing of their new Coffee Tuktuk Business and the society in general.
- Creating partnership and linkages.
