From February 3rd – February 7th 2020 the extended CETIC family (CETIC, Co-operative Education Training and Information Center) came together to discuss and resolute on new solutions for the CETIC Centers. The CETIC Leadership Retreat 2020‘ was held at Sentrim Lodge Elementaita hosted by DGRV/GKCD and attended by CETIC stakeholders from the Co-operative sector of County Narok, County Kakamega and national representatives of CAK, CUK as well as MITC.
Each day of the retreat was dedicated to a different focal point in order to provide a platform for participants to elaborate on different professional matters each day.
The technical focal areas were ; Board Effectiveness in CETIC ‚The impact of Co-operative policy changes to the CETIC concept ‚Digital professionalism in CETIC ,Internal Control in CETIC and , Contracting and Negotiation in CETIC . All contents were developed by DGRV/GKCD to suit the capacity development demands of CETIC leaders and target groups in order to improve professional operations of CETIC in a long run.
Assembling the CETIC stakeholders at the shores of Lake Elementaita for a whole week provided a fruitful ground for every participant to contribute meaningful insights to the CETIC concept as a whole as well as the CETIC structures in Narok and Kakamega in particular. The teams settled on significant change measures which they will implement in their respective regions which aim to further professionalize the operations of CETIC and get ready for a sustainable future. The national and regional stakeholders of CETIC remain committed to establish CETIC as a means to offer professional Co-operative Education, Training and Information to Co-operative leaders, members and general public in the rural set-ups of Narok and Kakamega County.
